Job Ad - Manchester: Do you have excellent knowledge of issues affecting lesbian and bisexual women?

Manchester Lesbian Community Project are looking to recruit a new Project Co-ordinator. The post would be 35 hours per week and the salary £24,670.

The LCP are looking for someone with experience of community development work and people management. You will need to have excellent communication skills, and knowledge and experience of issues affecting lesbian and bisexual women. If you are successful, you will have responsibility for the day to day operations of the Project, you will also input into the strategic development of the Project in conjunction with the Board of Trustees. The duties of the job include:

* Co-ordinating and delivering community development projects to meet the needs of lesbian and bisexual women.
* Developing and sustaining the Project’s staffing structure, premises and services.
* Management of staff and volunteers.
* Maintaining effective management systems to meet the requirements of external funders.
* Developing active partnerships with relevant organisations.
* Raising the profile of the organisation at key events.

The post is initially offered until March 2009, as it is subject to an annual funding agreement with Manchester City Council. The post has been funded for 6 years and if funding is continued the post will be renewed. You will be required to work some evenings and weekends, for which time off in lieu will be given. The post is subject to a CRB disclosure.
